Are you adventurous & wanting to explore Lesotho before the big Freeze? Ride with us in June 1-3 , for a Gravel bike trip over the highest road in Lesotho.

Have you riden the ascent of the Sani Pass?

This is the gateway to Lesotho from Kwazulu-Natal and the twisting dirt road makes it's way up to the edge of the escarpment, climbing over 1000m from the vilage at the base.

From there on, the new tar road takes us up to the thinner air, descending to the mighty Senqu River before making our way back to the altitiudes that lead to the ski resort: Afriski.

The final day's ride falls from the heights to the lowlands via the Moteng Pass, descending for 2000m on the day!

Join us for this 3 day trip in June:  dates are 1-3 June 2018

The schedule:

Friday 1st June - Depart JHB @ 05h00 & travel to Underberg to the Ride Up Sani Pass in the afternoon. (30km)

Saturday 2nd June  - The big day across the 'roof', Sani Top - Afriski (135km) - Afriski hosts the Gin, Wine & Jazz Festival, so the resort will be busy!

Sunday 3rd June - The 'drop off'. Afriski and beyond the border to Fouriesburg, ending at Fouriesburg Inn for lunch (90km) Arrival in JHB 18h00

  • Sani Top Lodge
  • Afriski

This is a Gravel bike trip, by virtue of the dirt climb of Sani Pass, and gradients thereafter on the new tar surfaces are steep at times.

Gravel Bikes and Cyclo Cross Bikes welcome, but gearing to be chosen wisely. However Mountain Bikes are also welcome!
